Footwear Developer

Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date on SMU requests
  • Work with ST China to make sure they have clear priorities
  • Keep Development Timelines on track
  • Establish Development Timelines/Plan
  • Assure that Sales Samples are shipped according to confirmed timelines
  • Work 2-5 years out on new tech ideas to bring to future in-line development.
  • Bring Shoe designs from Concept Drawings to production ready
  • Assist Designers with new technical initiatives
  • Travel to Factories to work on development and check on current production quality
  • Assist Designers with manufacturing, material, construction, and tooling questions
  • Create Spec Sheets for specific individual projects, every project needs a spec sheet
  • Create Tech Packages and follow development procedures to develop these projects
  • Research new materials and manufacturing processes
  • Establish Color Standards by season and by material
  • Ensure that the R&D database is constantly updated and has all projects represented.
  • Ordered sample projects must have SRF and that SRF must be approved
  • Every season the development review reports must be updated and cross checked with Sole Tech China.
  • Insure Fob targets and Fobs are realistic and compatible with product specifications
  • Maximize price vs. consumer value within target cost
  • Establish product Target Fobs review PM target W/s to calculate factory fob
  • Consult with production, logistics, Development manager and Director of R&D
  • Monitor and update Fob price quotes as development proceeds to Photo and Sales samples
  • Understand and apply USA and EU Tariff regulations.
  • Assure that all new shoes are both Fit and Wear tested before confirmation
  • Confirm Development projects, Production can proceed to participate in the commercialization process

Qualifications

  • 2 years Footwear development experience required.
  • Independent travel to Asia required
  • Experience with writing product specifications
